“Jennifer was responsible for several of the hydro-economic analyses we did during the time when I was the Head of the 2030 Water Resources Group at IFC (World Bank Group). She had a very strong commitment to the work we did, and showed a deep knowledge of water/environmental economics as well as the policy and political aspects of this difficult and often sensitive nature of this field. She was also good at building trust with the partners within the countries we were working which was necessary for the successful outcome of these studies/analyses”
Greg Koch
“Jennifer has successfully leveraged her background and experience in economics, water management, and policy to water stress and resultant risk. She is adept at doing this at a national level, as well as at a city level. This is unique as both perspectives are often necessary when posing solutions at either. Jennifer understands the fundamental nature of water, in economies, society, and ecosystems, and the many ways it is stressed, while being able to tease from that complexity potential risk, forming a strong basis for action.”
“From crisp boardroom presentations to gritty and comprehensive fieldwork, Jennifer puts the world’s water risks and challenges in strategic context. She uniquely combines her sense of exploration and strong leadership to make complex issues relevant and define clear actions for people, businesses, governments, and institutions. She is also passionate about sharing her wide experience, knowledge, and intense curiosity with students, colleagues, and collaborators."
Camille Giscard d'Estaing
“I initially joined Jennifer’s course to gain confidence in my approach to water risks but also to take stock of my technical capabilities. My objective was to bridge - and complement - all the pieces of knowledge I gained through various professional experiences and my educational background, in one proven and hands-on framework. A successful bet!
The best part of this course is the trainer. Jennifer is always positive and constantly looks for ways to help all her students. As a genuine pedagogue, she passes along her extensive knowledge of water risks, breaking down complex issues into comprehensive and easily learned steps. The information is presented in such a way that anyone can join the course, confirmed water professionals and simple water enthusiasts alike.
Beyond the robust teaching, one of the most valuable bonuses is the professional guidance Jennifer provides. Her very practical and useful tips on how to advance one’s career are spot on. After these 12 weeks, I am confident I can use the Blueprint and skills gained throughout the course to make headways serenely and offer the best to my clients.
To anyone who’s considering taking this course, three months may seem like a big commitment, but once you are in it, time flies! Yet, towards end, one can only wish it lasted longer.
Jennifer, mille mercis!"

“I had the privilege of being part of the first cohort to recently complete the “Water Risk Assessment Blueprint” course by Jennifer Möller-Gulland, which has given me a much broader knowledge on and structured approach towards assessing water risks.
In the course, Jennifer brought together a talented and motivated group of amazing people from diverse backgrounds and regions of the world which made for insightful and inspiring discussions. Jennifer is a seasoned professional and a skilled presenter, but her great personality really showed in her moderating of potentially tricky discussions from differing views, with patience, kindness, and wisdom, always moving towards positive and actionable outcomes.
The friends made and knowledge gained during the course has greatly impacted my career in water and I now have a great toolset to assist my clients in assessing and addressing the increasing water risks that we face in the world today.”
Avent Bezuidenhoudt
“At Earth Capital, a sustainable investor focused on technologies that mitigate climate change, we’ve seen that more and more people and companies are waking up to the devastating effects of climate change - particularly through water.
Taking the course has really helped me understand the water crisis globally - and where the technologies we invest in could be most needed and used.
Also, when looking at output failure across companies, this course has helped me to assess each of these companies based on their water risks, which will make our investments more sustainable.
We also have annual assessments on how the companies we invested in can be more sustainable and now I feel I can lead this and bring in the water perspective to this assessment.
This course has expanded my water knowledge, network, and global understanding. We joined as investors, lawyers, engineers, youth organisers - and water brings us all together.
I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to expand their career in the water sector - either lead other companies or their own company. With the looming water crisis, there just won’t be enough knowledge available. I particularly recommend this course led by Jennifer - with her experience she had all over the work and breadth of experts she brought in through the Q&A sections."
WHAT'S INSIDE THE COURSE
MONTH 1 - Water risk foundations
Create the foundation of your successful water career by acquiring the mindset to achieve your goals and learn how to master the triple interconnected success factors of “strategy”, “story” and “state” to experience a breakthrough. Then we explore water risks and its impacts on investments, business operations, as well as on national and geopolitical risks and how creating a niche in water risks can accelerate your career.
Learn the fundamental aspects around water risks. Gain clarity on the definitions and categories of water risks (water resources risk, water infrastructure risk, water governance risk), and on relevant methodological approaches and required data. Understand the differences in assessments between trans-boundary, country river basin, city, project site assessments.
Learn about the various dimensions of water risks exposure for businesses and investment operations. Become proficient in understanding the categories of corporate water risks (physical, regulatory and reputational water risks) and how to report these building on the key global standards and reporting obligations, such as GRI, UN Global Compact, CDP, CDSB, Alliance for Water Stewardship, Science Based Targets, Integrated Reporting etc.
Become proficient in using open source tools such as WWF Water Risk Filter, WRI Aqueduct and WBCSD India Water Tool to assess water risks for your first high level water risk assessment. Gain clarity about the advantages and disadvantages of each tool and how to compare water facts across countries/ regions/ cities. Understand when you can apply these, and when a more in-depth assessment is required. Learn how to use these tools to engage with stakeholders to show them their exposure to water risk.
MONTH 2 - How to confidently apply the Water Risk Assessment Blueprint to get meaningful results
For the detailed and holistic assessment, local data is required, wherever possible. While most data required for this analysis is publicly available, some insights, especially to better contextualize water governance risks, can be greatly enhanced when reaching out to key stakeholders. Learn how to know “who is who" in the water risk arena, what questions to ask and how to get what you want.
Learn the fundamentals on water resources risks, including water stress, water pollution and water-related disasters. You gain confidence in assessing the availability of water resources (surface water and groundwater), considering environmental flow requirements where applicable, and how these may be expected to change with climate change. Further you will be able to assess water demand (agricultural, urban, industrial) today and know how to project water demand into the future considering economic and population growth. Based on this, you can confidently identify the water stress level - and any potential water supply-demand gap. You will also learn how to consider water pollution and water-related disasters as part of water resources risk. Worry not -as the analysis is based on secondary data, no hydrological skills or field work is required.
Become proficient in the fundamentals on infrastructure risk assessments. Learn how to consider water supply and wastewater treatment capacity, non-revenue water, ageing infrastructure, infrastructure vulnerable to natural disasters and terrorist attacks etc. to assess infrastructure-related water risks. Worry not - as the analysis is based on secondary data and you will receive a template, no engineering skills are needed.
Learn the fundamentals on water governance risk. Explore the vast areas ranging from the legal framework to institutional fragmentation and corruption and how to collate this knowledge to assess water governance risks. Worry not - as the analysis is based on secondary data and you will receive a template, no political science skills are needed.
MONTH 3 - How to apply your Water Risk assessment results to improve decision making and solutions
Learn how to present the findings of your water risk assessment to make a clear case on the importance of water risks and be taken seriously also by non-water professionals. Understand the concepts on the “psychology of change” and how to use them to your advantage. Approaches include (1) how to link water risks – if left unaddressed - to GDP impacts and/ or financial impacts on operations and investments, (2) how to apply “what if” scenarios to shed light on potential future risks if no action is taken and (3) the power of “story” telling and how the emotional component of water risks can influence stakeholders to take water risks more seriously among others.
Know the different approaches on how to use the findings from your water risk assessment, and become proficient in integrating water risks into planning and decision making processes and tools, such as cost-benefit analyses. Learn how to enhance decision making so that sustainable solutions can be developed and potential conflicts resolved.
Learn about the key solution categories across all water risks and how to prioritize solutions based on their cost-effectiveness and potential to close the water-supply demand gap and/ or reduce water risks in the identified area. This will give you insights on what to focus on for more localized and concrete solutions.
Gain clarity on the different models of stakeholder collaboration, and on the success factors of long term engagements. Learn how to start and manage a results driven multi-stakeholder platform or collaboration by identifying the correct stakeholders, increasing participation and finding constructive solutions. Understand how goals can be defined and achieved in a transparent and mutually beneficial and collaborative manner.

The Water Risk Assessment Blueprint course brought my knowledge about water to another level.
I am a hydraulic engineer at IBG LTD (Swizterland), so I am used to think about water in a rather technical manner. This course changed my perspective. It helped me see water as a strategic resource, which is vital for the economic stability and prosperity of cities and countries.
More than one year after finishing the Water Risk Assessment Blueprint Training, I successfully transitioned from water engineering to water stewardship.
I am now part of Waterplan, a fast-growing climate tech startup focusing on water risk management.
In my new role as a senior water stewardship advisor, I work with some of the largest companies from the consumer sector, tech, and mining to evaluate their water risks, propose mitigation measures and formulate water stewardship strategies.
Thanks to the WRAB Training, I gained the crucial knowledge and skills to connect my water engineering background with governance and economy and to develop an in-depth understanding about water impact on the financial performance of companies.

"It was a pleasure to be part of the most recent WRAB cohort!
For those who are also interested
in understanding the nature of water risks, I highly recommend taking this training from Jennifer Möller-Gulland.
She knows this work inside and out. Each week she walks through another new element of her tried and tested blueprint, explaining how each piece fits into
the larger puzzle. She covers both theory and practice and brings in
superstar guest speakers to share additional insights on the ground. Plus, she
offers practical guidance and support as
you carry out your own water risk assessment, and you learn from fellow participants along the way.
And, all the while, Jennifer has a delightful positivity about her, and is clear about
the ‘why care’ of it all. That’s her secret and it’s contagious.
I enjoyed this course for all these
reasons and more and encourage those interested to reach
out and apply"
“I am highly inspired by Jennifer’s subject knowledge and on-ground wide experience on water risk and a thorough explanation during this 12-week program.
The tools and study materials are in-depth, and it is up to an individual how they want to create their own niche in water management and on which area they want to focus on for their own water risk assessment.
Icing on the cake is Jennifer has organized this course in such a way that individuals can also learn from industry leaders and experts on the global water issues whether it is… water risks, water governance, multistakeholder engagement, water infrastructure risks and the list goes on & on which is personally my favorite part of the course. Jennifer’s compassion and eunoia maker her fantastic leader in the field of water.
I am really looking forward to work towards assessing water risks, mitigate water risks in a more efficient, impactful, and collaborative way. I would like to share my favorite inspiring quote from the course” “Water isn’t important because the sector is less than 1% of GDP… The Problem is that the other 99% can’t do without it”. I hope you will also get the chance to experience this amazing 12-week journey.

"I enjoyed every aspect of the Water Risk Assessment (WRA) Blueprint course.
Jennifer is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the WRA. In the beginning of the course she promised to share all her knowledge and experience about the WRA and she actually did that to the fullest.
I found the course to be of great benefit in providing everything one would need to assess water risks of any country. I personally took the course to assess water risks in Central Asian countries in future and become the “go-to person” in the sector. I am glad to acknowledge that the course met all of my expectations.
Great content, great teaching, great value for money.
Thanks for this opportunity, Jennifer!"
"I am in the midst of a career transition and I had some insecurity that I would be out of my depth with the content of this course.
My insecurities were assuaged quickly because Jennifer’s “Water Risk Assessment Blueprint” is much more than an informational exercise, but rather a tool-based and real world tested approach to understand how to practically build a water risk assessment from inception to completion.
The weekly lectures, guest speakers, open form discussions, and “Accountability Buddy” were augmented with invaluable references and tools available to those taking the course for an immersive examination of water risk assessment."
Nsuku Nxumalo
"I joined the WRAB course to empower myself with the knowledge and skills I felt I needed to start carving out my niche in the water sector.
I really enjoyed learning from Jennifer's wealth of experience, the guest lecturers, and the amazing and diverse cohort.
This course has already accelerated my career in giving me the courage to take up a new role which allows me to work on a variety of water risks.
I would definitely encourage anyone thinking about doing the course to go for it!
Water risk is something everyone in the water sector interfaces with in one way or another, whether you're in the public or private sector, engineering, science, or policy, a holistic understanding of water risks and how they present themselves in different contexts will be incredibly valuable.
This knowledge, coupled with the practical assessment, the opportunity to meet other young water professionals and engage with guest water experts, makes this course really unique and totally worth it!"
Meghana Rao
"'I attended the Water Risk Assessment Course by Jennifer Moeller-Gulland between October 2021 - January 2022. I joined the course since I wanted to identify a niche for myself in the water sector.
The course was designed in a very well-structured manner which taught me not just how to conduct water risk assessments but to also understand and appreciate the diverse and layered aspects of the water sector.
The cohort of participants that was selected was helpful in bringing perspective to water-related challenges and approaches across the world. The guest-speakers that were invited to the course were very informative and helped in gaining a more practical and real world understanding of how the different aspects of water risk assessments are important while addressing water related challenges.
I highly recommend this course to any water sector professional (or aspiring water sector professional). This will help them get a holistic perspective on the water sector with the right tools to strengthen their professional focus!"
Baker Bozeyeh
"Joining the course was an outstanding learning experience for me.
It was a practical course, well paced, and with wealth of resources and insights.
The knowledge and skills I got from those 12 weeks would help me to pursue my career in the water sector, and had already elevated my work to another level through the hands-on experience and connections.
For emerging professionals in the water sector, this is a golden opportunity to advance your work and your career.
Markus Fittkow
Student MSc IWRM with focus on MENA, TH Cologne, Germany
The water risk assessment class from Jennifer gave me amazing insights.
While I am doing my MSc IWRM at the moment, the water risk angle - which isn’t covered during my MSc - was really helpful to understand the interconnections of several topics from my classes during the master course and how they apply to the “real” world.
I am interested in finding sustainable solutions for the people and this water risk assessment helps me to be aware of potential risk factors, which might lead to project failure.
This course is also great for young professionals or university students to learn a specific topic during their university studies or early career and create some more “hands on knowledge” and “practical tools” for the job market.
I feel that this course expanded my future career path.
It is an amazing and comprehensive course, and I learnt a lot in a really short period. The workshops where we discuss the findings of our own assessments and material covered help a lot. The 12 weeks passed very quickly!
Jennifer is amazing and helps the participants in whatever way she can to deliver a really good water risk assessment.
I can recommend this class for everyone who is interested in water risks.
Jayan Amin
"The course is fantastic because I’ve learned more in 12 weeks than in years in academia and my previous experience in the water industry. Jennifer puts all the training material into context and backs it up with her experience of successfully carrying out water risk assessments – while hearing about participants’ and guest speakers’ diverse opinions and experiences has provided me valuable insights I can’t find anywhere else. Guest speakers included professionals from The World Bank, The Alliance for Water Stewardship, WWF, (former) Coca-Cola, Circle of Blue, among many others. The participants came from all over the world with diverse backgrounds and shared their unique insight and expertise.
For anyone that is thinking of doing the water risk assessment blueprint is simple; DO IT! I have been approached by many people and organizations that offer training and have never been persuaded. However, Jennifer and the course she has created is different. Jennifer has a lot of experience in the sector and is well-recognized, respected, and trusted for the quality of her work globally.
There is an alarming shortage of people who are not aware of carrying out a risk assessment. The water risk assessment blueprint is made to provide and equip individuals with sought-after information and skills that are barely taught anywhere. I have been trained with the crucial ability to apply sought-after skills.
Choosing this course from a professional in the industry at the highest level will open your eyes and enable you to have the edge of unique ability."
"I joined Water Risk Assessment Blueprint (WRAB) as I am working to build more of a niche in my consulting business and I saw an opportunity to become an expert by taking this course.
One thing I loved most about the course was doing the actual analysis once Jennifer gave us weekly blueprint assignments. Receiving the layout of how to perform a water risk assessment is invaluable. For me, doing the weekly assignments was like getting to go out and play on the playground with a new set of skills I learned and would build on throughout the course. Once you develop the skills and put the pieces together, the work is quite enjoyable, especially if you are a genuine water nerd like myself ;)
My message to anyone on the brink of taking the WRAB, I would say go for it! The course is well worth your time and money. Jennifer is a real expert in the field and provides a course that is well laid out, and contains sufficient material to prepare you for performing a real world analysis.
Before taking the class I was nervous about spending the $, but after I took the plunge and went for it, I'm now seeing the dividends.
In addition to the course, you will be networking and collaborating with your peers, which also provides an additional benefit to the course material."
"The Water Risk Assessment Blueprint course has a systemic approach that revolutionized how I think and work when solving water problems that are vital to a healthy future for people and the planet.
Course instructor Jennifer is an incredibly valuable water expert with very keen insights, and a fantastic network of experts to share as speakers. Jennifer's "blueprint" is exactly what the world needs to address critical and interconnected water issues we face, whether working with corporations, cities, or other entities.
Through the course, she looks at the "big picture" and breaks down complex issues into do-able steps and is wonderfully relentless and good-humored in her approach that keeps students from different backgrounds engaged in discussion and research to advance their learning. Jennifer creates a compelling course structure that builds community among the cohort, and lays a solid foundation for participants to take next steps as future water risk experts.
This course is vital for those looking to comprehensively understand water risks and how to address them in a holistic manner.
Thank you, Jennifer, for the new way I am now able to solve water issues in my consulting practice, with an expanded network, set of tools and revitalized mindset!"
Your Questions, Answered:
No one can guarantee this for you – and if someone does I suggest to turn around and run away! Jokes aside - This course will give you not only a solid theoretical foundation, but it also makes you apply the knowledge. So by the end of the course will have determined your niche and you can undertake your very own water risk assessments. More so, you will also be able to advise on how to best use these findings to communicate their importance, create collaborative partnerships and identify and prioritize solutions. So after successful completion of this course you’re ready and fully qualified to get the job you truly want.
This depends a lot on how much you’d like to get out of the course. As a bare minimum there will be weekly 1.5 hour trainings and 2 hour workshops with Q&A. Beyond that it is suggested to keep about 2 hours per week to review lessons learnt and apply when conducting your own water risk assessment to become a pro yourself. If this is too much for now, you can also always re-do sessions with your lifetime access to all material.
No, you don’t need any prior experience on water risk assessments. The reason why it’s a 12-week program, is that I am going to break this down for you from A to Z. When you add this with the weekly 2-hour workshops, I can support you even if you’re a complete beginner and starting from scratch! Knowledge on water management in general – however – is clearly beneficial. However, with the support system and some extra work you can also successfully complete this course without much prior knowledge on water management.
Yes, absolutely. If you come from another background, such as Finance, Development, Engineering, Economics, Law, Education, etc. this program gives you a great exposure to all things about water risks that will prove to be a very useful to complement to your existing expertise. With no prior knowledge in water management you might need to put some extra work in to catch up with the terminologies etc. However, with the weekly 2-hour workshops, I can support you even if you’re a complete beginner and starting from scratch!
Yes, I do! You can get started for just 3 monthly instalments of $897 or for 6 monthly instalments of just $467. No credit checking required. Also, if you need longer payment plans, we can arrange for that. Just message me and so far we have always found a solution!
Absolutely. I am so confident that if within the first 14 days, you’ve tried out the first two weeks, showed up to the training sessions, and you don’t COMPLETELY LOVE IT, I will send you 100% of your money back.
This really depends on how much work you put into it. If you scan the trainings and don’t take much action, you will get a good holistic overview of water risks. If you, however, put more work into it and attend all trainings and workshops and follow all steps to conduct your own water risk assessment, you will be proficient in assessing water risks! Also, you will conduct your own water risk assessment that you can add to your portfolio, show future clients and make pitches on.
This depends on what the specific task is and what data already exists. If the task is to get a first good understanding of water risks for the area in which the site is located - YES! However, if the task is to understand the specific hydro(geo)logy tailored to the site and to understand exactly how much water is available - and when - this requires additional skill sets. You'll learn the first big step (which in many cases suffices too) on how to understand which areas are at risk. If your client then would like a detailed site assessment, you can add an expert on that area to your team to complement your work.
Between weekly 1.5-hour trainings, weekly 2 hour workshops, weekly Q & A, a private community, and an accountability buddy, you will be smothered in support. Also Jennifer will review and give you feedback on your water risk assessment you will do as part of this course. This isn’t just an online course, this is a live, interactive, 3-month, program designed to bring you results!
We will start on 13 April 2023, We will start with the first training on 13 April at 2 PM (UK) and trainings continue every Thursday for 12 weeks. Your LIVE Workshop & Q&A starts on the Tuesday following the start date, i.e 18 April at 2 PM (UK) and continue every Tuesday for 12 weeks. We will have a one week break after Week #6 (24-31 May 2023), so the last session will be on 11 July 2023. If you cannot make those days at all, then you’ll, unfortunately, have to miss out on this live experience. However, if it’s just a few of the trainings and workshops that you’ll miss, that’s okay. You will get access to all the training recordings in your private members area, and you can watch them at any time that suits you.
You’ll get lifetime access! Also, If I add any revisions or bonuses materials after you complete the program, you’ll also get access to these too. So don’t panic, If life gets in the way, and you really cannot complete your water risk assessment for any reason, you can always come back to the recordings another time, pick back up where you left it and turn into the “go to person” on water risks!
